I just came back from the national Canadian meeting in St. John’s Newfoundland where I had the chance to do a few talks, one on neuroassessment and another on assessment of the deteriorating patient. One of my talks was with my adult and paediatric colleagues from Sick Kids Hospital and Toronto and my colleagues from the University Health Network in Toronto.
St. John’s Newfoundland is located in the furthest province in Canada and is essentially surrounded by the north Atlantic ocean. The people are known to be extremely friendly and are considered ‘the salt of the earth’. What a time we had! The city is beautiful, abet a bit damp at the time, but the Canadian neuroscience board, the conference organizers, hotel and city put on a great conference. The conference was well organized, showcasing some up-and-coming excellent sound speakers. more importantly the value of national connection is never lost. If you ever have a chance to visit very large Canada, make sure you try and stop in this outstanding city. You will be guaranteed a great time. Cheers Dawn
